Questions couples ask us most

Straight answers on the process, the options and planning from overseas.
01

Planning

How far in advance should we book a wedding planner?

For full wedding planning, we recommend getting in touch 12–18 months before your wedding date, especially for the peak wedding seasons (December to March, and May to August). For day coordination, 1–2 months is typically sufficient. If your date is sooner than that, contact us anyway. We will tell you honestly what is possible.

Do you publish your prices?

We do not publish rates. Every wedding is different: the scope of planning, number of suppliers, type of ceremony, and complexity of the day all affect what is involved and therefore what the planning fee covers. Get in touch and we will give you a clear, honest picture of costs in our first conversation.

Can you help with honeymoon arrangements?

Yes, honeymoon travel arrangements within Sri Lanka or abroad can be included as part of our full wedding planning service. Let us know this is something you would like and we will include it in the proposal.

What if something goes wrong on the day?

Things can go wrong. In 19 years of planning weddings, we have managed last-minute venue changes, adjusting to weather at outdoor ceremonies, supplier delays, and family situations that required careful handling on the day. Our value on the wedding day is not just following a timeline. It is knowing what to do when the timeline needs to change, and ensuring you never need to know about it.

Do you work across all of Sri Lanka?

Yes, we plan and coordinate weddings across all regions, including Colombo, Kandy, Galle, the South Coast, the Hill Country, and the East Coast. We have worked at both large hotels and intimate private venues throughout the island.

02

Overseas

Do you work with couples who are based overseas?

Yes, this is a significant part of what we do. Many of the weddings we plan are coordinated with couples based in USA, UK, Australia, Canada, and the Middle East. We offer video consultations from the first conversation and handle all venue visits and supplier meetings in person on your behalf. You do not need to be in Sri Lanka to get started.

03

Seasons and weather

What is the best time of year for a wedding in Sri Lanka?

Sri Lanka has two monsoon seasons affecting different parts of the island. The best time for your wedding depends on your preferred location and date. We advise every couple on that combination and plan an alternative for outdoor celebrations.

04

Legal

What are the legal requirements for a foreign national to marry in Sri Lanka?

Legal requirements vary by nationality and the type of ceremony, and can change. We guide every destination couple through the specific requirements that apply to their situation. Contact us with your nationalities and we will walk you through the process.

Do you help with legal marriage registration?

Yes, we assist couples with civil marriage registration in Sri Lanka, including foreign nationals who need their marriage legally registered here. We work with the relevant authorities and guide you step by step through the registration process.
