Wedding checklist

Your wedding,
month by month.

Every task from the first conversation to the morning after, in the order you’ll need it. Free to use, with nothing to sign up for.

What the checklist does

  1. 01

    See what’s next

Add your wedding date and the checklist shows the stage you are in, and anything earlier that still needs doing.

  2. 02

    Make it yours

Add your own tasks to any stage and remove the ones that don’t apply to your wedding.

  3. 03

    Keep track

Tick tasks off as you go, filter by category and print a copy for family meetings.

Your checklist

From twelve months out to the day itself.

55 tasks across 10 stages, written for weddings in Sri Lanka: auspicious times, Poruwa and Hindu ceremonies, the registrar and guests flying in from overseas.

  • Local or destination, the size of the guest list and the traditions you’ll include shape every later decision.

    Planning
  • Agree a total, and keep some of it aside for the unexpected, before you visit venues.

    Planning
  • A rough number is enough for now. Venues will ask for it first.

    Guests
  • Sri Lanka has two monsoons that reach different coasts at different times of year.

  • For a Poruwa or Hindu ceremony, the auspicious time often sets the order of the whole day.

    Ceremony
  • Full planning, a destination package or coordination on the day.

  • Ask about a covered space for the ceremony and reception, whatever the season.

Questions

About the checklist.

What should we do first?

Agree the kind of wedding you want, a rough guest number and a budget. With those three answers, choosing a date and a venue becomes much easier.

Our wedding is less than a year away. Is the checklist still useful?

Yes. Add your date and the checklist shows the stage you are in. Earlier stages with open tasks are marked so you can see what to catch up on.

Can we add our own tasks?

Yes. Every stage has an “Add a task” field, and you can remove any task that does not apply to your wedding. Removed tasks can be restored at the end of the list.

Where is our checklist saved?

In this browser, on this device. Nothing is sent to us and there is no account to create. If you clear your browser data or change device, your ticks will not follow you, so print a copy if you want one to keep.

Your next chapter

Rather not do it alone?
We’ll take the list from here.

Tell us your date and where you’d like to marry. We’ll tell you which parts we can take off your hands.
